Orbit Solutions authored the Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment supporting the Macquarie Point Stadium's Project of State Significance submission to the Tasmanian Planning Commission.

This document is a Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA) prepared by Orbit Solutions Pty Ltd for the Macquarie Point Development Corporation. Orbit Solutions acted as the independent expert consultant engaged to produce the landscape and visual amenity evidence required for the proposed Macquarie Point Multipurpose Stadium in Hobart, with the report authored by Christopher Goss, Director of Orbit Solutions and a Registered Architect with over twenty five years of experience. The report was submitted on 25 June 2025 to the Tasmanian Planning Commission as part of the formal Project of State Significance assessment process, prepared directly in response to the Commission's guidelines issued on 16 February 2024.

In this engagement, Orbit Solutions was responsible for the full landscape and visual assessment methodology, from initial scoping and site inspections through to the final expert evidence. The firm's team, including additional staff contributing 3D visualisation and GIS work, carried out fieldwork, site inspections, and photography, and produced the AlignView photomontages and visualisations used throughout the report to illustrate the stadium's appearance from key viewpoints. Orbit Solutions also developed the analytical framework applied in the assessment, synthesising landscape and visual impact methodologies used in the United Kingdom, the United States, and Australian state authorities to evaluate the project's effects on landscape character, scenic and visual values, and the experience of people viewing the site.

Beyond producing the technical analysis, Orbit Solutions formed the professional judgements at the heart of the report, including the assessment of the stadium's location, siting, design, and proposed mitigation measures, and the evaluation of its relationship to sensitive locations such as the Cenotaph headland and the broader Sullivans Cove heritage precinct. The report notes that on matters of town planning and heritage advice, Orbit Solutions deferred to other named experts, meaning its own role was specifically confined to landscape character and visual impact assessment. As the report's author and copyright holder, Orbit Solutions retains all rights to the document and its contents, and the report itself stands as a representative example of the firm's expert witness and landscape and visual impact assessment work.
